About Access to Reproductive Health Care!

Access to safe, comprehensive reproductive health care

If, when, and how someone decides to have a child should always be a private, personal decision. Patients deserve the freedom and autonomy to make their own decisions about reproductive health care, including pregnancy, miscarriage management, abortion, contraception, fertility care, childbirth and postpartum care, and beyond. Hospitals, clinics, and medical professionals must be able to provide all patients with the full spectrum of reproductive health care. Patients also deserve access to health care providers, including pharmacists, who are able to provide them with the care they want or need without politicians getting in the way.

The harm caused by Missouri’s abortion ban

I believe reproductive freedom is a fundamental right, and that abortion is health care. Politicians in Missouri have banned abortion in our state, which has already had a negative impact on our communities--hospitals, doctors’ offices, and healthcare clinics are not able to provide the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare, and there's been a sharp decrease in OB-GYN residency applicants in Missouri since the ban took effect. We’ve seen and heard the horror stories of people around the country being told they can’t receive treatment for a non-viable and/or life-threatening pregnancy until the pregnant person becomes “sick enough”—and it’s almost certainly happened to Missourians as well.

Politicians have no business interfering with a person’s private, personal medical decisions, nor a health care professional’s ability to provide comprehensive health care for their patients.

Missourians and their communities are in more danger as a result of the abortion ban and other restrictions on reproductive health care. As a legislator, I will fight for your reproductive freedom.
