About Your Health Care!

I believe that every person has the right to high-quality, affordable, comprehensive health care. This includes preventative care, treatment for acute and chronic conditions, reproductive health care, mental health care, vision, hearing, and dental care, medications, medical supplies and devices, and accessibility tools and infrastructure to make it easier to navigate homes, public places, and transportation.

Access to Comprehensive Health Care

Health Care and Insurance Costs

Health care shouldn’t bankrupt us. Too many people are rationing medications, delaying getting the care they need, or going without accessibility tools that can help them live their lives to the fullest—simply because health care costs are too high. We deserve access to affordable insurance, as well as Medicare and Medicaid. When Missouri voters approved Medicare expansion under the Affordable Care Act, Republicans set out to try to sabotage the expansion, making it harder to implement and fund the expansion. I will fight for your and your family’s access to health care.

Paid leave to care for yourself and your loved ones

People deserve to be able to support themselves and their families through illness, whether acute or chronic, as well as through pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. All parents should have paid paternal leave that allows them to focus on the health and wellbeing of both the newborn child and the new parents, especially the parent who gave birth. Paid paternal leave should also be standard for parents who have built their families through adoption or surrogacy. People should not be forced to return to work before they and/or their loved one have been medically cleared because they did not have sufficient paid leave and they needed their paychecks.

Missourians and their communities are less safe because of a lack of access to affordable, comprehensive health care and paid leave. I will fight for you and your health care in Jefferson City.
