About Making Communities Even Stronger and Safer!

Each one of us deserves to live in a community where we can thrive as individuals, families, and neighbors. We have terrific communities and neighborhoods in the 87th District—I will work both for you and alongside you to not only keep them that way, but to strengthen them.

Our strength is in our diversity

One of the best things about the 87th is our diversity, and it should be celebrated. I believe that all Missourians are deserving of equal treatment under the law, access to the same opportunities, and being subject to the same responsibilities, regardless of their age, race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, disability or ability, gender or sex, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or other inherent characteristics. As a legislator, I will work to ensure that every resident feels safe and welcome in their community.

Getting to know our neighbors

I will help communities and neighborhoods strengthen their involvement by supporting and hosting events designed to bring neighbors together. During my campaign, I have hosted “Coffee with Connie” events for residents in the 87th to meet with me and share their thoughts, hopes, and concerns for their neighborhoods and communities. This is something I plan to continue once elected. It’s an easy, casual way to get to know one another and find ways to work together to build community.

The 87th is a wonderful place to live, work, go to school, and raise a family, and I’m proud to live here. I will work to increase access to affordable housing and provide support for the unhoused and housing insecure. I will support and work to recruit employers who provide jobs with sufficient hours, living wages & benefits, and safe working conditions for all of their employees. I will work to make our communities more accessible for all individuals with disabilities.

The Parkway and Pattonville School Districts are two of the best—not just in the St. Louis area, but in the entire state of Missouri. The Special School District of St. Louis County provides tremendous support to students, teachers, schools, and families and is a big part of why our local schools are so strong. Many families move to the 87th District so their children can attend one of the incredible public schools we have to offer. I will work with district leaders, teachers, and families to to make sure they have the support and funding they need to maintain high levels of excellence.

I will promote, support, and advocate for environmental sustainability in our homes, businesses, transportation, and natural resources. I know many in the 87th District are concerned about the nearby West Lake Landfill, and so am I. I will fight for safe clean-up of toxic/radioactive waste, as well as compensation and healthcare for those impacted by contamination.

I will work to support residents who struggle with their mental health and/or substance abuse disorders, and I will work with local leaders on issues surrounding illegal drugs and drug abuse. I will work to provide support and resources to the unhoused and those experiencing housing insecurity.

I will work with local leaders, law enforcement agencies, community and neighborhood groups, and individuals to prevent crime—not just for our residents, but for those who work in the 87th, who visit our parks, stores, restaurants, churches, music venues, and public facilities, or who stay in one of our many hotels while they’re visiting our great metropolitan area.

Our communities are stronger and safer when we work together, support each other, and look after one another. As your State Representative, I will work tirelessly for you, your neighbors, and your community.
